Richard Bair is the architect for the client Java platform at Oracle. He was an influential lead in the development of JavaFX UI controls and associated APIs. Prior to that he was the lead of the SwingLabs project, which was an open source community supported by Sun with a focus on enhancing and extending Swing. Before working at Sun, Blair was an application developer with a focus on data-oriented rich client applications backed by databases. He has a passion for graphics, performance, and developer productivity.
